I have recently had to plan a corporate event for work and must admit I didn't even know where to begin. The event was to be a conference style and then a social dinner thereafter. Of course the basics come to mind, like venue and catering, but there are the little yet very important plans that seem to slip by unnoticed such as the stationary for delegates and ashtrays and so forth.
At first I was mostly excited at the idea of planning an event and getting the glory for it, but I soon realised that if I didn't succeed, I would have to face the flack as well. I immediately set out to find someone who would be able to help me organise and set up an event that would be both successful and worth remembering. The beauty of having an event planner on your side, is the absolute convenience. Of course when you are planning a corporate event of function, you need to continue with your usual work tasks as normal, this is when your event planner or function co-ordinator really does step in and save the day! Event planning requires a great deal of telephone calls, sample viewings, collection of details of the people attending and so much more. It really isn't all about booking a venue and arranging a never ending supply of refreshments! Your event planner will do everything for you, from arranging that everyone attending has a seat and the correct refreshments to booking the accommodation, table overlays and decor as well as stationary and so much more.
With the help of my coordinator I was able to ensure that our work / corporate function was an absolute success. Although I commend our function planner...I certainly got the praise. Allow an event planner to help you make an absolute success of every event, big or small.
